Privacy Policy
ClearHome is an Android launcher designed to make Android easier for older adults and people with low vision. This policy explains what data ClearHome uses and how it is handled.

Information stored locally
ClearHome may store home button labels and actions, apps selected for More Apps, selected contact display names and phone numbers, an SOS contact, theme, text size, layout and other launcher settings, and backup data when a Pro user chooses to export or import a local backup. This information is used only to provide launcher and setup features and is not sent to a ClearHome server.
Contacts
ClearHome lets the user select contacts through the Android system contact picker. It stores only the selected display name and phone number needed for a shortcut. ClearHome does not read, upload, sell, or share the full address book.
Phone and SOS
ClearHome can open the Android system dialer for selected contacts. If a family member explicitly enables direct SOS calling and grants the Phone permission, ClearHome can place a call to the selected SOS contact after confirmation. ClearHome is not a medical, rescue, monitoring, tracking, or emergency service.
Installed apps
ClearHome queries launchable apps on the device so family members can choose which apps appear in More Apps. The installed-app list is processed locally and is not uploaded.
Camera and flashlight
ClearHome may open the system camera and control the device flashlight when supported. ClearHome does not upload photos or camera content.
Notification access
If the user explicitly grants Android notification access, ClearHome can show a simple local dot for apps that have an active, dismissible notification. ClearHome records only the package names that currently have such notifications. It does not read, store, or upload notification titles, message bodies, senders, or timestamps.
Advertising
The free version may show Google AdMob banner ads on family setup screens. Ads do not appear on the senior home screen, SOS, Phone, Contacts, Flashlight, or More Apps screens.
Google AdMob and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, diagnostics, interactions, and approximate location as described by Google. Where required, ClearHome uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent or provide privacy choices before requesting ads. Payments
ClearHome Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play Billing. ClearHome receives product and purchase status from Google Play to complete the purchase and unlock Pro features. Payment information is processed by Google Play and is not stored by ClearHome.
Local backup and restore
ClearHome Pro lets users export and import a local backup file. The backup may include home buttons, selected apps, contact shortcuts, SOS contact, theme, text size, and layout settings. Backup files are created only when the user chooses to export them. Android automatic backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for ClearHome data.
Data retention and deletion
Local setup data remains on the device until the user changes it, clears ClearHome's app data, or uninstalls the app. Exported backup files must be deleted by the user from the location where they were saved. Data processed by Google is subject to Google's retention and deletion practices.
Children's privacy
ClearHome is not directed to children and is not designed as a children's app.
Changes
This policy may be updated when ClearHome's features or legal obligations change. The latest version will be available at the privacy-policy URL shown on Google Play.
